Lauren R. Smith is the founder and attorney for Lauren Smith Legal Services (LSLS). She is a settlement-minded lawyer who is dedicated to  finding the right solution for her clients and their families, whether through mediation, negotiation, or litigation.

Her mediation practice is focused on helping families through various points of conflict.  She can help couples looking to mediate potential conflicts before marriage, couples looking to mediate to stay married, or couples looking to find the most peaceful option to dissolve their marriage.  She conducts mediations for self represented individuals, and for those represented by attorneys.

For those who need services outside of mediation, Lauren can guide individuals through the litigation process.  Her practice includes divorce, uncontested divorce, divorce modification, step parent adoption, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, legitimations, contempts, as well as drafting wills for estate planning.

Lauren has extensive experience with complex mediations.  She has also made more than 200 appearances in court, conducting both bench and jury trials, and has aided in more than 20 appellate cases.

Throughout her years of practice, Lauren has come to recognize the impact the legal system can have on her clients’ lives, and on the lives of their families. This understanding drives her to build personal relationships with her clients in order to provide them with effective, individualized service.  Using empathy coupled with her legal expertise, she is able to focus her representation based on the needs of each of her clients. She views problems from a pragmatic perspective and focuses on creating solutions tailored to her client’s circumstances, needs and goals.

Lauren is a mom to two young children, Elle and Mac.  She and her husband, Elliott, have been married for 11 years and love to ski, travel, and explore the world with their kids.

While earning her J.D. at the Georgia State University College of Law, Lauren stayed active as a coach and participant of Moot Court, president of legal fraternity Phi Alpha Delta, national finalist of the Student Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Public Interest Law Association. Prior to law school, she received her B.S. in English from Auburn University.
